Bachelor
of Web Design (BS)
School of Business and Economics
Atlantic International University
The Bachelor of Web Design (BS) program helps students develop the skills necessary through a combination of design theory, web design, imaging and advanced web technology. Students will further enhance their knowledge in critical thinking, logic, communications and workplace challenges through the general education material. The Bachelor of Web Design (BS) program is offered online via distance learning. After evaluating both academic record and life experience, AIU staff working in conjunction with Faculty and Academic Advisors will assist students in setting up a custom-made program, designed on an individual basis. This flexibility to meet student needs is seldom found in other distance learning programs. Our online program does not require all students to take the same subjects/courses, use the same books, or learning materials. Instead, the online Bachelor of Web Design (BS) curriculum is designed individually by the student and academic advisor. It specifically addresses strengths and weaknesses with respect to market opportunities in the student’s major and intended field of work. Understanding that industry and geographic factors should influence the content of the curriculum instead of a standardized one-fits-all design is the hallmark of AIU’s unique approach to adult education. This philosophy addresses the dynamic and constantly changing environment of working professionals by helping adult students in reaching their professional and personal goals within the scope of the degree program.
Important: Below is an example of the topics
or areas you may develop and work on during

Job Description
Bachelors in Web Design
Web designers generally conceptualize, layout and code content for the Internet. The intention is for this content to be read and displayed by web browsers after uploading it to one or more web servers. Since the contemporary Internet is an increasingly complex organ, composed of many types of media, including text, images, music, animations, videos, etc., early twenty-first century web designers must not only have an acute sensitivity to effective layouts and design, but also be fluent in a range of technologies, hardware, software and mark-up languages, such as HTML and CSS, and server-side languages such as PHP and ASP.
Skills for Success
An effective web designer must have a keen eye for design, a methodical, exacting nature and the patience to test, troubleshoot and perfect designs in any number of browser and operating system environments. They also be able to accept constructive criticism and communicate effectively.
