In the dynamic world of organizational leadership and human development, Cecilia Mancia of El Salvador stands out as a professional who has seamlessly integrated business leadership with psychological expertise. Her journey is not defined by a single achievement, but by a continuous pursuit of growth, knowledge, and meaningful impact on people and organizations alike.
A Career Built on Leadership and People-Centered Strategy
As a Human Resources professional, Cecilia’s career path has been influenced significantly by her passion and dedication to the study and development of human potential. Today, Cecilia is the Corporate Human Resources Manager at D’CASA, where her role is to manage the entire Human Resources function of the company’s three businesses in the manufacturing, distribution, and personnel services industries.
But Cecilia’s role is far more than just a matter of administration and process management. She is a key influencer in the development of the organizational culture and the alignment of the business objectives with the needs and goals of the employees. She is the leader of the entire process of ensuring compliance with international standards like ISO 22000, BPMs, and HACCP, as well as the formation of occupational health and safety committees that aim to improve the quality of life in the workplace. She is a key participant in international audits related to social responsibility and the impact on the environment, reflecting a vision of a world in which businesses are not just answerable for their profits but are also answerable for their people and the world they are a part of.
Influencing Academia and Organizational Psychology
In addition to her corporate experience, Cecilia has also made notable contributions to the academic world. Her appointment as Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Organizational Psychology at the Universidad Matías Delgado has been particularly notable. In this role, Cecilia has had the responsibility of designing the academic direction of the program, as well as the choice of professors, students, and the general success of the program. Her experience as both a professor and a lecturer has allowed her to combine theory with practice, as well as help shape the next generation of psychologists specializing in organizational psychology.
High-Impact Leadership in the Banking Sector
In her earlier professional life, Cecilia had worked as a senior leader at Scotiabank in El Salvador. Her role had been to oversee the Human Resource function for 2,200 employees. She had worked closely with the bank's headquarters in Toronto to help shape high-level strategies in talent management, performance management, compensation, and employee engagement. The role had helped her navigate complex organizational dynamics and had helped her understand how to balance human capital strategies to ensure that they had a strong link to financial performance. The role had helped her build her capabilities as a leader to drive meaningful organizational change.
Advancing Knowledge Through Doctoral Studies
Yet despite her many professional accolades, Cecilia understood that there was always more to learn. This need to further understand and extend her influence in the world of human behavior was what prompted Cecilia to seek out and earn her Doctor of Psychology at Atlantic International University (AIU).
This was an important moment in Cecilia’s life because it was characteristic of her realization that in order to become a real leader, one must always grow and become more. Cecilia’s experience at the University was a cornerstone in her growth as both a person and a professional. As Cecilia mentioned - this was because it was accessible and enriched her experience as a high-level executive, thus allowing her to achieve her academic and professional objectives and also because it was a powerful tool for her as a leader. Cecilia mentioned that this was because, through her experience at AIU, she was provided with powerful tools in psychological analysis and research and application.
Most importantly, AIU helped Cecilia leverage her corporate experience with psychological theory in a significant way. It helped her build on her capacity to understand not just what was happening in organizations, but why things were happening, opening doors to new ways of leading, engaging, and developing organizations. The knowledge and assurance she acquired through her doctoral program have been instrumental in shaping her career as a leader and consultant in significant ways.
A Model of Integrated Professional Excellence
On the basis of this, Cecilia has expanded her professional presence through the development of her own platform, ‘Asesorías Psicológicas Cecilia Mancia.’ Through this, she has sought to provide psychological consulting services aimed at helping others attain more enhanced well-being. Through this, Cecilia has sought to provide a more personalized service, based on the combination of her expertise in the field of Human Resources, as well as the enhanced knowledge she has acquired from her studies.
The story of Cecilia Mancia has been one of integration, purpose, and achievement. Through her, it becomes evident that the corporate world, academic development, as well as the pursuit of education, have all been made possible, all while keeping the focus on the people. Hence, real success is a process, rather than a destination. This makes her journey a powerful message to all of us - to invest in knowledge, change, and dedication towards human development. In fact, when passion, discipline, and education come together, one can achieve everything they want in life.
