Open Curriculum & Andragogic Learning

The University’s online programs follow an open curriculum. Instead of a pre-defined course list, the student and academic department set forth a path uniquely tailored to the needs, interests, opportunities, and real world demands that surround each student. The courses listed in the various programs in these pages are just an example and can serve as a good starting point. During Phase 1 & 2 of the program, students identify the most relevant skills, abilities, tools, knowledge, and characteristics demanded in their future field of work which then allows them to properly determine the optimal course composition of their program for their unique circumstance. The AIU Virtual Campus provides students with access to the AIU eLearning platform, orientation courses, academic advisor, tutor, the online research library, support staff, and academic resources at anytime from any place, work, home or other.
