Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Peru who have been afflicted by the earthquake this past August 15, 2007 - August-17-2007
The AIU community feels the tragedies occurred after the unforeseeable earthquake that shocked the Peruvian land.
The AIU community laments the tragedies resulting from this unforeseen event this past Wednesday when an earthquake of 7.9 points on the Richter scale and 8.0 in USGS scale shook the Peruvian communities of Ica, Pisco, Chincha y Cañete leaving in its wake over 503 dead, 1042 injured and hundreds missing. The residents of these communities where surprised again when another earthquake registering 5 points on the Richter scale the next day.  On behalf of the faculty, staff, and student body, we offer our brothers and sisters from Peru our support in these moments of need, and invite the global community to aid in any way possible. AIU wishes our Peruvian students and sister institutions never again face this kind of sadness and we pray for their full recovery.
