It traces how their collaboration led to significant advancements in violin technique, notably through the development of the modern bow, which revolutionized sound production, phrasing, and dynamics. The study contextualizes their influence within the broader lineage of Italian masters such as Vivaldi, Corelli, and Viotti’s role in shaping 19th-century violin schooling. Further, it examines how this historical evolution impacts contemporary violin teaching, highlighting pedagogical lineages like the Carl Flesch and Ivan Galamian schools.
