Portfolio Submission

The Portfolio is a representation of the accumulated knowledge, skills, and expertise that students have gained during their time enrolled in the Associate of Mining Engineering degree program at Atlantic International University (AIU). The Portfolio contains various artefacts such as documentation of student-created projects, report writing completed as part of practical assignments, summarisation of case studies and research, technical analysis and reports from students regarding mining operations, safe working practices, environmental responsibility, and resource management.

The Portfolio was developed in conjunction with the andragogy methodology developed by AIU and provides the opportunity to demonstrate competency, critical thinking, and preparedness for entry-level employment in the Mining and Natural Resource Industry through an integrated learning experience.

Through a distance learning paradigm/model and a focus on the way that we learn as adults; we provide our students with the tools necessary to build their academic careers without constraints. To give you the ability to succeed within mining & geological studies, the Associate of Mining Engineering programme has been developed to ensure prospective students have sufficient knowledge & skills necessary for these two fields of study. Prospective students are typically expected to possess a high school diploma/equivalent with a strong foundational background in Math, Physics & Chemistry. AIU may take into consideration other course work or certification in earth sciences, engineering or technical-related areas when assessing applicants to this programme.
