The Associate degree is intended to provide a good base of knowledge regarding nutrition and health as well as to prepare students for entry-level careers in healthcare, community health, fitness, and other types of service related to nutrition. Students will learn about how nutrition affects their overall health and will gain knowledge about how to teach and promote healthy eating habits. Additionally, the program will provide an excellent pathway into higher degree programs/advanced degrees and national certification to allow for various types of jobs in this rapidly growing field of health and wellness.

AIU promotes admission into their Associate of Nutrition Science program in such a way that it is accessible. AIU will generally require that applicants have completed high school, or an equivalent secondary education credential. The admissions process may consist of submitting supporting documents (e.g. the applicant’s academic record) and other relevant background information. AIU evaluates each applicant individually based upon their accomplishments in terms of education and degree(s) earned; the applicant’s personal goals; the applicant’s motivation to pursue an academic program in nutrition/health sciences.
AIU has an easy-to-use process for applying for their Associate of Nutrition Science Degree. A person interested in this program completes an online application that includes providing academic, biographical data, etc., and after all completed applications are received by the Admissions (AIU) office an Admissions Representative will assist applicants with selecting an Academic Advisor for discussions of the Applicant’s Academic Goals and an Individualized Plan of Study. Also, the Admissions Department assists students who are interested in applying to this program through the application process in establishing careers that are primarily focused on Nutrition and Health Sciences.

Associate in Nutrition Science is an associate degree from an accredited institution.
