The Postdoctoral program in American History focuses primarily on research and analysis in the literature, the social sciences, and the history of American culture. With such knowledge, the student will acquire a rich and complex understanding of America’s history, society, and cultures in the past and present. The degree prepares students for an academic research career in a multidisciplinary manner, as it ranges from politics and education to journalism and related careers.

Our program does not require every student to study the same subjects and use the same books and other learning materials as every other student.
