I have enrolled at Atlantic International University to pursue a Master’s degree
in International Relations from 2021/08/12 to 2023/08/12. I already have a
full-time job in another field and a family to support. However, one of my
goals is to work in the field of diplomacy. One of the reasons I enrolled at
Atlantic International University was that the university offered distance
learning courses. This allowed me to continue my education while still
working. Another reason was that the university offered tuition payment
options in installments. It was a good experience for me to study at a distance
university.
I also enrolled at Atlantic International University because of the choice I had
to formulate my own program of study. I had already done some construction
studies, so I wanted to avoid repeating the modules I had already taken. In
addition, I wanted to design a curriculum that would help me have a broad
understanding of the world. I chose subjects like international relations,
diplomacy conflict management and negotiation, counselling skills, political
science. I was also happy to do a thesis proposal and the final thesis for the
master’s degree. I have successfully completed the program
requirements, including a final thesis entitled “The impact of
diplomacy in the West African sub-region”,
Knowing that my work was going to be published, gave me the courage to
double my efforts in order to propose better work that could be seen by all.
With the access to the online library that the university offered, my research
was much easier.
I am grateful to my advisor, my tutor, and my admission counselor for the
advice and guidance they gave me and the answers to my concerns during my
studies at AIU.
