EXPERIENCE LETTER

After completing my Bachelor’s degree in engineering way back 1976 and passing the board examinations for registered engineer. I never contemplated in pursuing further studies. Although I read a lot of books, articles and magazines and tried distant learning with International Correspondence School during the late seventies.
Besides my previous companies including Pepsi International sent me to trainings, seminars and workshops, or maybe I was so engrossed with work and building up my carrier that brought me most part of Asia with a short time in Europe and Africa. Even though, there were times that friends and colleagues brought up the subject of a master’s degree to advance one’s professional standing in the company. It never crossed my mind to pursue any academic qualifications, partly because I did not find the need and the time due to my moving around.
It was late September 2009 that I was surfing the net to search for information and answers to a question that kept on nagging me for the last three years and was not able to obtained satisfactory answers. I decided to pursue my quest for understanding about life. I surf the net for distant learning. I told myself that maybe this is the right time at my age, experience and tribulations that I shall manage to find answer to my questions.
I am not a supporter of distance learning. My upbringing brought me up in the old school that one could learn faster and effectively through a structured teacher and student physical interaction. The difficult hurdle a student needs to overcome in distant learning is discipline and time management. The student should have the passion, dedication and interest to pursue the studies. Another factor is the ability of the student to identify the topics that are relevant and essential to achieve the goal.
