The Associate of Genetic Engineering major is also known as Bioengineering, Molecular Genetics Engineering, Biotechnology and Molecular Biology. The purpose is to train students to develop new and active solutions in today’s world through genetics and biotechnology. Those solutions can be in the fields of science research, medicine and healthcare, industrial purposes, agricultural solutions, manufacturing fields, environmental options, culture, education and even political solutions. The Associate in Genetic Engineering is a professional whose objective is to diversify genetics in different fields. The expected growth of this major is a 5% growth from 2019 – 2029 which is a faster growth than the average of all other occupations, according to the BLS. There continues to be an increase of demand for biomedical engineers to work with medical staff specifically to use new technologies in equipment and devices for baby boomers’ medical procedures like hip and knee replacements as well as other health advances to cure other diseases. The program of Genetic Engineering at AIU, is a distance learning program that will be tailor-made and designed exclusively for you, by you, and with your counselor. Our program does not require that each student studies the same subjects and uses the same books and study materials as other students. Career Center in Genetic Engineering

Genetic Engineers modify living organisms in order to improve the genetic makeup of the organism or to transfer DNA from one organism to another. Genetic Engineers use DNA structures, modify organisms, design experiments. They work in a variety of laboratories for different purposes like medicine in coming up with new drugs and treatments, manufacturing in coming up with new components to improve manufacturing, in scientific research in welcoming new ways to cure diseases, in agricultural settings in coming up with different foods to come up with more diversity and better food alternatives, as well as other forms. The median salary was $91,410 in 2019 according to the LBS.
