Your Future as a University of One is Calling

First year students, Transfer students, Graduate students and International students partake in Phase 1 Orientation. Phase 1 of the AIU program is integrated into the Virtual Campus, its 8 orientation courses are intended to help you define your dream in life and incorporate its advancement as part of your academic journey. Phase 1 seeks to do this first by challenging you to define your purpose in life, your dharma, mission, and what you want your legacy to be. The key to happiness is the expression of love in everything you do. Having meaning and purpose is an important part of that as well as finding reasons to be thankful for what we perceive and experience. This is what we consider makes AIU and its students Unique and unrepeatable.

Students at all levels have access to AIU’s Curriculum Builder module in the Virtual Campus. The Curriculum Builder is accessible during Phase 2 of the academic program and together with feedback from your Tutor and Academic Advisor will ensure that your program is as unique as you are. The more than 120 degrees and areas of study listed are only a fraction of the available programs at the university. The university open curriculum design sets your journey at AIU apart from what is possible at any other university. The Open Curriculum at AIU means students can study in virtually any area by proposing a customized course list for approval that is perfectly aligned to their interests, goals and aspirations.

AIU Application Requirements

Adult students with work experience are ideal candidates for the online learning programs and educational philosophy followed at AIU. Andragogic open learning programs are best suited for professionals with some experience in their field of study or a related field. Students who lack direct experience in their field may still qualify for admissions but may need to follow a more traditional or pedagogic approach for some of their courses. The degree programs offered at AIU allow for limited Academic or Life-experience. Academic or Life-experience credit is knowledge gained outside of the classroom through work or other professional endeavors.
